The calendar has several filters available to help you find funding opportunities that are most relevant to you and/or your organization.
Funding Type is used to identify the type of initiative that the program offers, such as operating funding, travel grants, artistic project grants, awards, and prizes, etc. These opportunities may be specific to organizations or individuals.
Eligibility is used to identify who the opportunity is designed to support, such as organizations vs. individual artists, registered charities, individuals in a specific age range, Indigenous artists, etc.
The eligibility filters are designed to be broadly inclusive. Where program guidelines indicate general eligibility (for example, Calgary Arts Developments' Artist Development Microgrant), we have assumed the opportunity is open to artists of all identities and cultural backgrounds unless otherwise specified.
Identity-based filters - such as “Racialized Artists,” “Female Identifying Artists” and “Indigenous Artists” - identify opportunities that are specifically intended to support individuals and organizations from those communities.
Artistic Discipline is used to identify opportunities for specific artistic disciplines, such as theatre, music, literary arts, etc. Opportunities that are not discipline specific are tagged as 'All'.
Funder is used to identify opportunities provided by a specific funding organization, such as Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Foundation, Edmonton Arts Council, etc.
Geographic Eligibility is used to identify opportunities available in specific regions or locations, such as Calgary, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Treaty 7 Region, etc.
Funding Opportunities with Ongoing Intake
Some funding / granting programs do not have set deadlines and accept applications throughout the year. Those opportunities will be listed at the top of this database, but to search for them specifically, use the 'Ongoing Intake' filter and select 'Ongoing Intake'.
A note about funding amounts: 'Max. Amount' listed typically represent the maximum amount of funding available through the program. If a listing does not include a 'Max. Amount', that typically means the amount of funding available is variable. In many cases, those listings will be for organizational operating funding.

SUBMIT A DEADLINE
If you are a funder with upcoming program deadlines, or if you know of a program or deadline that is not in the calendar that you think should be included, you can submit details in two ways:
1. Complete the following intake form to submit a new funding deadline: New Deadline Submission Form
2. If you would like to add details for multiple programs and deadlines, please email Ayla Stephen at ayla@rozsafoundation.com for a copy of our bulk upload spreadsheet. When you have completed the spreadsheet, you will send it back to Ayla and she will import the information into the calendar.
